Salem

Portland

As the largest city in Oregon, Portland has everything you could need. This city has transformed in the last decade, but it has still retained much of its quirky vibe. The Pearl District in northwest Portland is home to lots of trendy shops and boutiques, while the downtown area is always bustling with life. Portland also has a vibrant Chinatown district if you’re looking to taste some far east cuisine.

Another culinary highlight of Portland is its abundance of food carts, each serving unique dishes from a wide array of cultures and backgrounds. The carts often like to stick together so you can sample dishes from multiple spots for a bevy of treats for you and your crew.

Newport

Although the Oregon Coast isn’t as tropical or glamorous as other states, it’s still a lot of fun. Newport is one of the older coastal cities, and it’s home to the Newport Aquarium and has a quirky downtown district. Be sure to visit with children as there are lots of family-friendly activities to do. Examples include Ripley’s Believe It or Not Museum, the Undersea Gardens, and the Wax Museum. There are also lots of great seafood restaurants nearby.
